We had a quick night around the fire in Annalong Wood after quite a quiet summer. Just a bit of chat around the fire and far, far too many steaks to be healthy!
As usual there was a smattering of tents, hammocks and bivvys with people dropping by through the evening either straight up the Annalong Valley from the car or for the hardier, across from Newcastle via the Donard / Commedagh Saddle. It would be nice to say we made the most of our time in the Mournes with some hiking in the glorious sunshine that Saturday provided but apart from a hardy few, we mostly sat around the fire and chatted long into the small hours, then rose around 8-10am and went straight home again 🙂
A great night was had by all and we’re very much looking for ward to the next one.
