We headed down to Limerick over the weekend for a work commitment, and decided to take in the Moher cliffs while there. This isn’t our typical walk to be honest, as the health and safety people have gone over the top where the cliffs are concerned (last time I was here there WAS no health and safety).
6 euros per adult gains access to the carpark across the road from the cliffs. a 5 minute stroll past the new visitor complex has you at the cliffs themselves. We took left and walked the 3 odd miles out to hags head (named after the rock formation that is supposed to resemble an old lady). The further you go away from the visitor centre, the less tourists there are….. until the last mile or so the walk was pretty much to ourselves. Views, as you would expect, are stunning. the wife set her bad down for a few photos and nearly lost it to a gust of wind (the wind takes you outwards, so be warned). probably 3 to 4 hours would cover the whole thing, unless you’re a wildlife photographer or avid cameraman. PS there are some great looking spots for a WILD wildcamp, but I think you’d be arrested!!!
