So who all are definitely going?

I'm there Dude... No weather, work or woman could keep me away from this one.  I'm totally looking forward to the change of scenery  ;D

whats the situation re a fire on sat night? I know we are all bringing firelogs, but will we be cutting a sod to put the fire in, or are there rocks etc that we could set them on? Just to minimise the impact etc?

I think cutting a big sod and keeping it somewhere safe till morning to cover the fire pit with is the handiest option.  We are by a river too so rocks could be used but I've seen rocks explode, first hand, due to them being saturated with water and building up pressure inside.

I will consider bringing my folding shovel to do the sod but if weight becomes an issue I'm pretty sure my new knife will do the same job.  If it comes to deciding between a bottle of Scotch and a folding shovel I'm pretty sure I know which will win that battle  :D

Weather's now actually looking quite good. Decent shower overnight but dry without much wind other than that.

Great way of choosing a location! Hope you all have a great night, and hope to join you all some time in the future when I have more kit and confidence.
