At the start of December 2013 we had our usual mountain Christmas dinner. With the comings and goings it was hard to get an accurate headcount but probably 25-30 or more gathered around an open fire surrounded by fairy lights to have a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and most camped out overnight.
We sat down to turkey, stuffing, ham and chipolatas (or Quorn Roast) with mashed, roast and sweet potato sided by carrots, parsnips, mushy peas, sprouts and more all followed by Christmas Pudding and custard with brandy sauce and topped off with port, single malt whiskey, biscuits, cheese and shortbread. Crackers were pulled, carols were enjoyed and generous quantities of mulled wine kept the campers toasty warm through the evening as everyone chatted and laughed into the small hours.
Thanks to all for both their culinary efforts and for another top night around the fire.
As usual it was the best camp of the year. If you weren’t there I suggest you keep an eye out for the 2014 outing!
Here are some pictures in no particular order.
