nope not a badger, they are always dead when i see them, this wee fella bounded across the road like he'd just won the lottery, well done redspud, after googling pine marten thats looks very very  close to what i saw

Looking at the Northern Ireland mammals website there has never been pine martens recorded there before (assuming the website is up to date). As such its an important record. The environmental data centre in the Ulster Museum collate all records for NI. It would be great if you could submit your sighting - http://www.nmni.com/CEDaR/Recording#records

glad to be of help liam, thats a rare animal, well done on seeing one, in all my country ramblings I have only ever seen one, it sat watching me when I was out fishing a few years ago, but I didnt have a camera with me at the time! (typical lol)
