What's everyone planning for food at the weekend? I can't decide what to bring. Am a bit sick of the usual stuff, steak etc.

Been pondering this the last three days, will be my first time for this style of camp so I'm lost. Used to just carrying dry food to be made with water later, not this luxury sit around a big fire type.

Was gonna make a 3piece dinner box and super chip myself I'm gonna take the bandit out for a spin through the mournes then up to camp before dark.

If there are any other bikers who fancy it pm me and we can meet up for a run.

add to an indian themed night they're more than welcome to some.

Ditch the dried food this time and spoil yourself... Its the perfect opportunity!  We've had Steak, Lobster, leg's of Lamb, Spatchcock Chicken, Haggis, Rabbit, Full Christmas Dinners... In fact if it used to breathe we've probably eaten it at a forest camp  ;)

Ohhhhh... A fellow Bandit biker  :o  I've my daughter coming with me so no bike for me this time but I'm jealous.  I've brought the bike to Annalong before for a camp.  It's a brilliant feeling getting up the next morning and racing home, the long way, through the mountains.

This is my bike... I think we need to start a new section for Bike Camping on here:

Both simple and both Yum... You've got me considering a Gammon too.  The butchers in ASDA, can't remember the name of them, do an awesome vacuum packed one with a pineapple on top which is big enough to choke a horse!

See you all there.

Just a quick thought as i'm sure some folk will be planning some spooky shenanigans (not me of course). But is there anyone coming who perhaps scares very easily, wouldn't appreciate nutters making them jump, or bringing along younger children who could have to deal with a week of nightmares after?

Main reason for asking is if anyone like that could perhaps wear a head torch or some other silly way of a visual aid that say "don't jump out on me please" without giving the game away for those who don't mind. Anyone any thoughts on it or is it a case of "you come, your fair game"?

There's never been anything requiring a sudden change of underwear before but, there's a first time for everything I suppose  ;)

It is a family camp and we're not expecting anything scarier than the Ghost Train at Barry's lol

Dowser that's a lovely bike there, I love my wee bandit, she is great as a first time bike.  Just got my test this year after years of talking about it.

This will be the first time I've camped with her have been away on weekends and it's great just bungee the rucksack to the back seat and off you go.

I'm planning to go round the coast, over the strangford ferry then up to Newcastle.  Home via the mountains next day.

Here is Rihanna,

A bikers camping section sounds class!

Yeah you guys might need a safety code of some sort... Someone could jump out and
Frighten someone, get an axe between the ears out of fright and end up buried in
Annalong Wood  ;D ....

Enjoy guys not able to go as work conspired against me again but until I win the lottery or have the stones to apply for DLA I'll just have to keep at it ;)

Or maybe this is just a rouse and I'm gonna freak you guys out from afar on the night :)

Red Sky at night, Shepherd's Delight
Red Sky in Morning, NI-Wilders Warning

This was the view overlooking the Mournes this morning at 7:30am.  The Met Office are forecasting heavy rain from 13:00 to 16:00 on Saturday, with temperatures of 10 degrees (Feels like 6) through the night so come prepared.

Yep, looks like definite rain but hopefully not both afternoon and evening. Wrap up warp, bring decent waterproofs and if anyone can throw in an extra tarp we can have a go at lashing up a shelter if needs be.

Remember!
Red Sky at night, Shepherd's Delight.
Red Sky in Morning, the rotten local kids have set the forest on fire again.

Just got word that my kids are coming over this weekend and I will not be able to make this. Gutted that I can't make it, was planning on heading into the hills tonight, all packed and ready to go. All I can say is have a great weekend hope to meet up with some peeps soon. I am in Portstewart and if anyone is heading out let me know and I will be happy to try and catch up. I noticed there are a couple of newbies to the site (like me) from Limavady, if you feel like a Binevenagh, Springwell or the like trip in the next few weeks give me a shout.

Once again sorry I can't make this and have yourselves a good time.
