Spots in the NW

Just wondering if anyone knows any decent spots to fish from the shore in the NW. I don't really want to head any further east than Portrush. Went out today to get a look for some mackerel but anywhere that was like a pier was either full of the bucket and spade crew or just impossible to get access to. I know there is some reasonable beach casting to be had from downhill etc but I don't have any heavy equipment and so not sure if I would be able to cast far enough out.

Did spot one place at castlerock although there was already a few folks with rods so would of been too crowded. Anyone know of other spots over this way?
