I don't know about miles, just that its 4 summits to achieve, driving between each one, probably the highest summit in each province, so quite a few miles to travel. Handy for us though as it finishes in Newcastle.

I was thinking that if we could get most members to donate a few pounds to put a team in for this it would ease the money burden, a lot of pressure to raise 500 each on your own. Maybe we could have a raffle and people could donate a few items. I hate asking people for money, selling a raffle ticket is much easier on the conscience.

Some more info:

The 4 mountains won't be announced until 4 weeks before the event (in line with Mountaineering Ireland event guidlines) but I don't think it'll be too hard to guess which 4  ;)

You can raise money for Mountain Rescue Ireland (the governing body), or for your local voluntary Mountain Rescue team. Thats Mourne MRT or NorthWest MRT for us NIwilders.

INFORMATION EVENING for The Irelander is being held on Thursday 7th February at Jackson Sports, Belfast 7pm.
