• Christmas Dinner and Camp: December 15, 2012 - December 16, 2012

Anyone else really excited about tomorrow night??  Can't wait!! 

Really excited! my first proper camp!
Made ...1kg of cranberry sauce, 1/2 kg cranberry salsa, 100 raspberry ruffles and 40 Whiskey praline truffles last night..  hope i dont get stopped this morning... might have been a wee bit heavy handed with the whiskey and tia maria...  hic 

Looking forward to trying these raspberry ruffles, their reputation is legendary!

I think this year's going to be a classic. The weather looks horrible at the mo but it's supposed to clear up at lunch on Sat and stay fine until Sunday lunch. What more could you ask for! It's also due to be mostly cloudless with a new moon and it's the end of the Perseids meteor shower so we might get a bit of a spectacle.

Lets climb the Lamagan Slabs at 3am to watch the meteors.

I know it has been hinted at a few times already but if there is anyone who is not down for bringing anything already, more mulled wine would be appreciated by all I'm sure.  Between Rumblebum and I we'll have about four bottles-worth (along with the other food stuff), a bit more would ensure there was plently to go round

I'm going to be a right sado here by saying, but there is a road not far from Splega dam, that i take the boys to every year and tell them that it's were Santa take off from for his Norn Ireland tour    ... well.. if he was real.. i think it looks like a good place to take off from

We did once summit Donard at midnight. We were sitting around the fire having a laugh and someone suggested a night hike. Next thing it was 2am and we were standing on the top of Donard

It was brilliant. Bloody hard though and Sunday was a complete writeoff

My original plan was to be at camp about 14:00 but to be honest I'm having a bit of a Whitey about Christmas Shopping, as I haven't started yet 

So... I'm probably going to get my Mash/Champ made first thing tomorrow morning then hit the shops for a while and then aim to arrive at camp about an our before darkness (Dusk, not The Darkness, their not coming).  I'm guessing that will be about 15:30-16:00.
