Bloody bridge is a good spot dave and will let you light a fire, but you have to buy the logs from the owner.

Sweet, is there any camp sites like that up the north coast ?

I need good family camp sites where you can light fires anywhere in NI.

The more i have to choose from the better.

I would recommend Hillfoot, which is on the slopes of Benbradagh Mountain sort of near Dungiven and a not that far from Limavady. Mervyn the owner allows a fire at a communal firepit he's set up, or you can take a fire pit and use that at your tent. It's a lovely site, a bit of a secret (no longer!).

One of the guys on the camping forum put together an interactive map of campsites, contact details are published if you click on the wee 'tent'.

If you have a firepit, £25 from Dunelm Mill, B&M Bargains etc, you can have a fire pretty much at any campsite. I had mine going at Benone Tourist Complex. I never ask if I can, I just light it and if the campsite owner wants me to put it out I'll apologise profusely and put it out. But I've never been asked to put it out, although at Castlward I was told before I could even think about it that open fires weren't allowed. I used my firepit at Ballyronan too. My firepit is a little low to the ground and does singe a circle of grass underneath. I've started putting it up on four half bricks to keep it a bit further from the ground, or use it on a hard standing.

Trying not to sway the thread, but I have to say that is a brilliant map that he put together. All credit to him.

Yep Oisin, you can see the work 'Skint' has put into it, must have taken quite a while.

We had a quick overnight break up in Hillfoot at the weekend.  It is a lovely wee site, Mervyn and Liz were very welcoming. We brought a fire pit and it was no bother, Mervyn even gave us a concrete slab to put under it.

I met a few from the NI Campsites forum who were having a meet at the site.  Nice bunch of guys, it was good to have a wee natter with them all, including Big Chris from NI Wild. :)

Yes it's a pity.  I stayed there a couple of times and it was great.  The local pub was cracker too.
