Upland invertebrates
« on: May 30, 2012 »

Got a few more pics fro Garron Plateau today, didn't suit the plants thread. There were lots of these big black ground beetles about, I don't know what the species is called. They seem to be great predators, I saw one dragging along a slug and this one with what I think is an emperor moth...

What would the world be, once bereft
Of wet and of wildness? Let them be left,
O let them be left, wildness and wet;
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet.
