What's up people, are you all just having a breather?  Is there nothing exciting going on in NI?  Did 2011 signal the end of the local blog?

Are there any other local blogs out there that are interesting?

Sorry, just got out of the way of it. I'm particular when writing blog posts and it takes quite a bit of time... but lucky you, i've just uploaded a big post on last year's Ultra attempt. There's more in draft to release over the next while.  ;D

I've recently updated mine, but I did have a couple of winter months off as nothing camping related happened. http://campingnut.blogspot.co.uk/

Sorry, mea culpa! To be honest, it's been really difficult to get the time to get out on the hills and when I do I don't seem to have time to write about it (and when I have done so recently it's been for paid publication!).

I must try harder
I must try harder
I must try hard...

Unfortunately I've been big on ideas, but short on time :(  Actually, to be truthful, I just need to make better use of my time...

I keep a list of all the things I would like to write about, so maybe it's time I dusted it off and picked something!  Or perhaps the local bloggers should all arrange a weekend in the hills so we all have something to write about ;)

Good to have a reply from a few of you.  You understand my motivations are entirely selfish...I enjoy reading these things during lunchtimes  ;D

Anyone know anything about the fella who did Stayin' Alive?  His updates were fairly regular and he did a lot of gear testing and the like.  Last update was from the Cairngorms, I hope he made it back in one piece!

I'm flattered by your selfish motivations, nice to be missed ;)

I spotted a recent comment by Mac E on his Stayin' Alive blog -

Quote
Hi Maria, I'm still here but for a variety of reasons I basically had to write off 2011 in the end. I'd decided instead to be ready for wimter when it came but in the end the weather was really mild and we didn't have any snow at all.

Hopefully I'll get something planned for the Easter break.

I have to say I'm surprided that you still visit my blog considering how long it's been since I posted anything, I do appreciate it though.

It's weird we all seem to have hit blog fatigue at the same time :D
