not a lot of trees up there, is everyone bring a fire log? and any volunteers to bring a spade to dig a pit? no need to pack light if going straight from car park, the kids did it in 25mins  :)

I'll bring a fire log too.  If everyone brings one we should have a decent wee fire most of the night  :)

What's the etiquette on digging a pit on a summit.  I don't mean to be a pain in the a** but I would have thought digging a pit, burning a fire in it all night, and burying the remnants would be quite messy.

I have a light weight folding bbq that I will bring.  My Primus Stove is getting a service so I will cook my dinner on the BBQ and we can use it after for the fire.

Need to careful about lighting fires on Hen mountain,as it's part of Batt's estates, which have the shooting rights over the land, the game-keeper lives just below the mountain & i don't think he would warm  ;D to the idea of digging a pit, although i'am sure burning a few fire log would be fine as shooting season had just finished

i thought digging the pit for the fire then filling it in after with the same sod would have been ok  ???  other option would be to pile a few rocks up and burn a log on those, but the bbq looks perfect, cheers andy, i'll use it to heat my chinese up when i arrive late  ;D
