I'm gonna do this walk again on Sunday with you guys. Did a slight variation to it today which worked out at 10.5 miles, but sunday is to be a nice day so it would be rude not to. Besides I've been on the forum a while now and I never met anyone so its about time. Just a thought...park at the dam and walk to cargan, get that big hill out of the way at the start???

Today was beautiful with the mist and fog in the ballymena area miles away. It looked like little islands in a sea. There is ample parking at the dam for a few cars. Does anyone need directions to the dam? well its the first right as soon as you get into the village and then its a left about half a mile down that road, The road to the dam is small and uneven so take care.

What's everyone doing for lunch tomorrow?

Also, what's the final word on meeting spot and time?

Cargan.
follow my previous post for directions to the dam.

I just copied that off google maps racer. Also there usually not that many people parked at the dam so I'm sure most people will be NI-Wild.

direction, been a while since I've been up that direction, also how will I know any of you lot, haven't been to a camp or anything, I drive a Silver 206

To keep it simple just:
  • Leave Lisburn and head for Belfast M1
  • Then follow signs for Coleraine / Ballymena M2
  • Once you're on the Ballymena bypass M2 follow signs for Cushendall A43
  • Once you're off the motorway Cargan is about 9 miles along that road A43
  • Then follow Craigy's directions to the dam

It's the first right as soon as you get into the village
then its a left about half a mile down that road.
The road to the dam is small and uneven so take care.

Should take about hour maybe quicker as it will be relatively quiet at the time of the morning  ;D

For lunch I'm thinking of Pot Noodle  ;D

I'll be bringing my gas stove for a brew if anyones needs some water boiled.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread and didn't want to commit too soon.  I out tonight on a long standing engagement so didn't wish to cancel it.  depending how the night goes and the morning feels I'd be keen to go as I haven't been there for a long time.

So I might see you there.

Great stuff. Not too many soups and in bed by midnight and you'll be spiffy! Quick round of Dungonnell will clear the head :D
