cooley christmas challenge 2011

Myself & AnnieAnne (& kids) took part in the Cooley Christmas Challenge today, what's this? i hear you say, well its a 4x4 navigation event around the Cooley mountain area, mostly road navigation around the lanes with the odd 4x4 only section thrown in


we all met at the crowne plaza in dundalk for an early morning briefing



then we were given our co-ordinates to plot our routes



then jumped into out big rufty tufty 4x4s


well actually we were in the nissan x-trail  ;D  looks a bit small compared to the discovery



so we drove around the lanes looking for clues and markers boards



found the odd muddy puddle



did a punch hunt in some muddy fields, there was a serius offroad section which we wisely avoided, in fact i think some people are still stuck in there  :o






drooled over this landy



kept the kids quiet with some dvd



and we ended up winning the event, which was handy as wee had already been given number 01  ;D

What a brilliant day!  ;D I think i could smell some sour grapes off the FB thread this morning  ;D
Still wishing i had of floored it going through the big puddle...  but there's always next year!
