Looking for a barrel for a BBQ
« on: December 12, 2011 »

Hi guys, I'm on the scrounge. I want to make a half barrel BBQ but can't seem to locate a barrel. Does anyone know where I might get one either already halved or still intact (but empty obviously!).

My mates cut open a beer keg - took quite a bit of cutting and filing of sharp edges but it's super tough. We have the other half and use it as a firepit.

Not sure how they acquired it... may have been 'found' behind a pub, although they do raid many a skip which can turn up all kinds of things.

I'm guessing maybe an old oil drum in a junk yard?

I remember we used one for burning hedge trimmings, it needed many holes drilled in it.
