Kids footwear can be a bit of a nightmare as since they grow out of them so quickly you never want to buy anything too expensive. I usually head for the Regatta Shop in Portstewart because you can get boots around the £20 mark but it's a bit of a drive (not that I don't mind the opportunity for ice cream).

Anyone know anywhere that's closer that you can score kids gear cheapish?

On here really ought to be that place? Kids stuff is something I'd be reluctant to buy much of, due to the limited use. That may lead to less chance of the kids getting out and about.

We should have a thread in this section of the site dedicated to kids stuff. With low starting prices for new there should be some good bargains, some stuff may even be free to a good home. No doubt friends and family get hand-me-downs but I'm sure some goes into the charity bag. I can't say that I regularly trawl charity shops looking for stuff, nor do I want to, I use more in fuel than I'd save!

sports direct sometimes have them at the right price, you could also try the scout shop, although being a father of 4 i sometimes have cast off,s . A thread for a swap shop for kids might be an idea .What size boots are you looking for ?

Cheers for the offers guys. I chanced on a pair of decent boots in TK Maxx for £25 so I grabbed them.

Swapping kids stuff is a great idea, if anyone has stuff they're willing to donate just throw a post up in the sale section. Is definitely a better idea than just dumping!

Sportsdirect.com - look under outdoor - got a pair for my kid £8 - some bargain and a great boot. 12k of the Moyle Way on a 5 yo and no foot complaints. AWESOME

I noticed this post and thought i could offer a bit of help, as ive a 5 year old who i insist is kitted out as well as im am where possible.

Anyone near the Outlet - A1 Banbridge there are a few factory shops.

TOG 24 - excellent range of kids gear - Ask for 10% discount if buying a few things!! (they are good that way)

Regatta - Boots & clothing reasonable deals all the time

TressPass - same as regatta

Mountain Life - over prices and everything on offer, but worth a look when passing

Also i have lots of girls outdoor kit, mostly TOG 24 but other branded kit always good as new and cheap to good home as its grown out of before its been worn many times! Usually posted on gumtree but ask me anytime if you need anything.
