I'm in desperate need of a new pair of boots since my Scarpas bit the dust. I'm considering a pair of the Brasher Hillwalker GTX. Does anyone have any experience of them? They review extremely well and since I want a leather boot this time, they seem ideal. Plus at £90 they're not too hard on the wallet.

i think decathlon sell these, it was them or sports direct on boucher road, i def tried them on somewhere last week, can't remember if i liked them or not though

i really need a new pair myself, especially for this weekends 2 day scout trek in the mournes

I have them.
I don't wear them very often since I don't actually go walking more than half a dozen times a year
but when I do wear them I like them.
they're very light weight for leather boots.

My experience of Brasher is;

very light
fits immediately
no 'breaking in' required
falls apart after 12 months

Interesting. Same thing happened to me with a pair of Scarpas.

I recently got myself a pair of Meindl softline boots and i must say they are excellent! No breaking in and a hell of a lot more comfortable than my scarpa ZGs even though they were in my opinion the Donkeys!

Kat loves her Brasher boots, although she bought the model down from the Hillwalkers (can't remember the name). The Hillwalkers were even more plush, seemed very comfy. Only criticism Kat has is there is no toe rand and already the leather has taken a fair few gouges around the toe. No idea why they didn't stick a toe rand on when the leather marks so easily, but in fairness it doesn't appear to effect the performance of the boot.

I own a pair of Brashers, have done for 7 years and have had no problems with them. Although would agree with Kat about the scuffing..
