Hi Guys

Just a brief introduction.  I have been traveling down to the mournes for 3 years now.  I have only camped out a couple of times but will try to find more time for this during the summer.

 I live in Bangor but work in Belfast.  I am lucky in that I have been able to work 4 days a week leaving me Thursday to enjoy the hills. 

I have a little site that you may like to look around. mourneviews.co.ukthis is realy just somewere for me to record my photos.  The photos are simply recorded memories rather than an attempt at great photography.

Anyway I hope you do not mind if I ask a question or 2 over the next few weeks.

Most of the early pics were from a Fuji P/S.  The later ones are from a Oly EP1, the EP1 is pretty small and light but I am thinking of getting a Canon S95 for the summer as the EP1 is a bit big for fast and light summer hikes.  I do have a Sony DSLR but its just to bulky to fit in a day sack so I now leave it at home.

I always take my DSLR, good tip I picked up from some hikers on Kili was to put your camera in a dry bag (Exped bag) and then into a camera padded case and hang it on the outside of you bag with carabiners.

It was nuts. Just made me miss the hills all the more. There's something about a traffic jam that makes the thought of sitting round a fire with a beer seem like heaven :)

I heard all the nonsense about the traffic yesterday and made the smart decision to get of Belfast sharpish. Glad I was going the 'right' way  ;D
