ICRO Logo Design Help...?

Hi All...

Anyone here any good at Graphics Design type stuff...?

I've been trying to knock up a design for a 50th Anniversary logo for the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation

Prob is, I'm crap at that kinda stuff...

This is what I've come up with so far, can anyone suggest how to improve, or even totally change it....?

Logo has to be on Black background

Is there anyone from the 1st Dublin Scouts still in the cave rescue unit. I had the good fortune to have them take me caving on a few occasions in the Lisdoonvarna and Marble Arch systems in the 70's. I can't remember their names at the minute as I would appear to be having a senior moment !!!!!

You could simplify it by getting rid of the people and moving the red cross down to the mouth of the cave.  Cutting down the number of colours quite often cuts down the cost too.

Personally I would get rid of the 50 centralise the badge and put 50th Anniversary above the badge in red same as the date, also as has been said get rid of the people and stretcher its an extra colour and will cost, the name says it all for me best of luck with it.

Nice logo, although I think there might be some merit in the comments about ditching the people and the stretcher.  I'd also like to see whoRya's idea of moving the red cross down to the mouth of the cave instead.

I like the idea of the "50" but maybe remove the dates below the 50?  To me it looks a bit like the organisation existed between 1961-2011 but ceases to.  Perhaps replace this with the word "years" to highlight the 50 years?  Or just replace it with a simple "Est. 1961"?

Just my tuppence, I think it's a great logo though!

Personally speaking, i would take out the people, cave, and first aid cross, and replace it all with a nice hand grenade. I think that would rock!!!!!
