castlewellan
« on: April 19, 2011 »

Hi folks,
Dismayed to hear what some people have been experiencing recently in castlewellan. had planned on taking the 10yr old there in may for a wee bit of comfortable camping and fishing - seriously rethinking this one. trouble is the wee man is all fired up about it  :(
Do y'all think the forestry people will actually do anything about the situation?

Would anyone perhaps know where else we could heaed to wet a line and do a bit of camping?

Apologies if i should have put this on the thread about the trouble in castlewellan and not have created a new topic - new to this lark!!!

Many thanks

To be honest with you I intend to be back to Castlewellan soon as I wont let people like that put me off.  In saying that I intend to park up and have a good look around first before selecting my pitch.  I think its one of those things that happens now and again but hopefully the park rangers will deal with these people a little more efficiently from now on.  Fingers crossed.

I wouldn't be put off either, just go and try and camp away from everyone else.
Give them a ring and say you hear the place is rough at night, the only way they'll improve is by hearing peoples concerns!

I'm afraid I won't be back, but I've got two youngsters to consider. I'll go back if they put on a night time warden, but until then I won't be back to either Castlewellan or possibly any Forestry commission site.
