Some of the guys have been talking about a day in the mournes getting to grips with some easy climbing and scrambling. And the use of ropes as far as i know the date is 21st March. Any one interested?

Location- Castles on Commedagh or the Great Gullie on Eagle mountain.
If you die with all your parts working your not trying hard enough!

I will be there dude. Is a lid needed for this excursion?

MG1

Not to sure mate you'd need to check with either chris or fatty-arbuckle. They know the climbing area s in the mournes more than the rest of us.

Was going to say Castles, but eagle does have some interesting gullies.

Ill have a wee think.

But you'll defo need a harness

MG1

I think we're heading down to cotswold on thursday nite to get the harness.

Is this only suitable for people with climbing experience ?

MG1

I've no climbing experience mate. Its just a learning day, getting to grips with basics.

Cool, well if its an open invite, I might invite myself....

Will I just need a harness ?  And a pair of trainers or my mountain walking boots ?

MG1

i'll prob just wear my trail shoes. Its not going to be to technical, so i'd say boots or trainers would be fine.

so any more info on this?

I'm planning a solo camp on Donard sat night so I need to know where to meet you guys. If this is planned for the castles then no biggy but if Eagle then I'll need to meet mg1 for a lift.

Anyone interested in mountain climbing gear, I found this post on GumTree:

I bought a helmet and harness for £30 yesterday, the lady (although it says Graham) is giving up climbing for health reason and has the full kit for sale.

MG1

Guys what the plans for tomorrow then? When and were are we meeting?

Sorry I forgot that was tomorrow! Thought it was a couple of weeks yet, eagle mountain at 10 o'clock.
