Sorry Landy, I know how much you love the Photo Comp... It did take a while to recover from the Ham Hock Hammock.

This is going to be our last Monthly Photo Comp for a while...  The Comp has run for Three Years, Two Months 14 Days and 16hrs and like Forest Gump says... I'm pretty tired, I think I'll go home now!  And just like that, the photo comp was over  :D

Our last gallery, "Favourite Moment from 2013" is now live.  Have a gander and don't forget to vote for your fav  :)

Remember, your votes are as important as the entries themselves so please get involved and support our keen photographers and the hard work that they have put in  :)

Voting will remain open until Sunday 9th March 2014

CONGRATULATIONS
TO
Landyliam

This months winner of the NI-Wild Monthly Photo Competition

Well Done Landy... Normally this is where I would ask you to pick the theme for next months comp but instead I'm going to offer you the Photo Comp itself as the grand prize, if you chose to accept it lol

Watch this space NI-Wilders

I was so sure he was going to say "I'm pretty tired...and the breathability of this poncho is not all it's cracked up to be"

Cheers for all the hard work running the photo comp Dowser, much appreciated.

WooHoo, a winner again, I have missed the sweet taste of success  ;D and to have won the last competion as well, but its not the last! I will indeed take on the mightly mantle of GameMaster. Many thanks to Dowser for all his efforts over the last 3 years, and in all that time he refused to fix the results in my favour despite my offerings of midnight deliveries of bottles of whiskey on various mountain tops. ( I never actually tried to bribe him, but when I think about it i'm pretty sure it would have worked  8) )

So as we're now "under new management" we'll have to try and spice things up a little, so here are a few changes i'll suggest.

Each person gets more than one vote (the final number will depend on the total entries)
Entries can be made anonymously to encourage everyone to have a go (you only have to reveal your name if you win)
I will probably pick the next few subjects to allow people more time to get a new shot.
All winners will be entered into an end of year draw for something pretty unspectacular, unless i'm feeling flush.

of course I welcome any other ideas

and finally, the subject for March is "SUNSET or SUNRISE"
Happy Snapping  :)

Well done Liam on a deserved win, it got my vote and kudos for taking on the running of the photo comp, the site wouldn't be the same without it, i think everyone enjoys having a gander at what photos come out of the relevant themes.
Cheers to Dowser for all his hard work and keeping it running this long, here's to many more.

LandyLiam

and I nearly forget to tell you all why it was my favourite moment of 2013. I was on the last day of my holiday in Mayo and had missed every opportunity to do Croagh Patrick (due to bad weather and lazy kids  :( ) , so on the last day I arose at 5am to do a quickie and get back in time for breakfast. So I summited about 7.30am and was rewarded with a glorious cloud inversion so manged to snap this great selfie  ;D . Anyone else want to tell us their story behind the photo?

Thanks, Dowser, for running the comp so well. My hand-warmer is the only thing I have in my trophy cabinet.

I am glad to hear it will be continuing, and thanks Liam for taking the reins.

Sometimes the comp is that extra nudge I need at the week-end to head out and about with my camera.
Semper ubi sub ubi.

I'm glad it will be continuing, I enjoy looking at the entries and the changes are a good change.  I will now be on the hunt for a sunset or sunrise.......my photo was taken last summer when in clifden campsite in Galway caravanning for a week, the weather was glorious, swimming in the sea, barbecues and cold beers.  More of the same please this summer.

Well done on your win Liam and hope running it goes well for you.
I'm not going to bother entering any more as it just does us annoying me but I will stop in and vote when I can.

clav

you do that and were gonna lose one of our best photographers!! phil, love your posts and your photos were brill, but compo entries were fantastic and would be a shame to lose them, and i have read that your pissed off with lack of competition but hey, its a pleasure to see 7 - 8 class captures every month !! even if it is the same people!! who cares the photos are great!!
