Had a wee look at the weather.... looks like some rain on sat but nothing major. Dry night and clear skies for sunday but as always it can always change.

More info on Summit Gullie on Ben Crom.

The first gully you'll come accross is NOT to be attempted, you will know this place as it casts an obvious shadow on the mountain and is damp even on dry days. Head round another 10 mins to discover the great gully. You cannot miss it close up. Time to scramble up one if not the steepest gradients in the mournes. Don't worry about the right hand bend at the top, it's very steep but short (remember 3 points of contact) and pretty short.

that sounds class! I can't wait now, was thinking about taking my new tent (aint had a proper chance to use it yet!) but I think i'll be fine with just a bivvy.

This sounds like an excellent weekend. Be sure and take some piccies and put a writeup up so we can see how you got on!

Really looking forward to this.
Weather for saturday looks promising but sunday will be a wet one.
If all goes well I think this will be a future classic.

Probably a bit beyond my level of experience and fitness but best of luck, hope it's a top weekend!

It should be good as long as the rain holds off till late on Sat or at least long enough to get the tarps up.
you'll have get on some hills Jonno get you ready for the next trip :)

I know, I'm gagging for some camping action. My weekly jaunts round Cave Hill don't seem to be helping my fitness. Might have to try some jogging *gasp* :)

You just have to keep pushing yourself. Found this cracker picture of some of the terrian we will be covering from left lough shannan to Ben Crom.

Looks like it was taken on Lamagan I think.
Hope it like that when we get there ;D

so, trip went well and everyone made it back in one piece! I'm getting together a full trip report and should be posted soon.

The summit gully on Ben Crom is dangerous and not to attempted. Its wet, and slimey and not fun. >:(
