Looks the biz proper camping gear and the first thing that springs to mind is Blazing Saddles lol :-[
"Id say you've had enough" ha ha ha timeless ;D
Got our hammocks out for the first last night up at Annalong. There's a bit of a nak to setting these up having never even pitched a tarp we think we were set up right as none of us hit the deck. Wasn't the best nights sleep I've had but I think this was purely down to not being tired and not the comfort of the hammock all we were missing was a big bowl of ham stew ;D
Why Boo??His bum rumbles 8)
Nice one, what was the weather like? Has been a bit hairy of late, I've been wary about going into the garden never mind the hills :P
The weather was great a lovely clear night with a big ffull moon a bit windy and cool but up on Sunday to a lovely sunny day lookin forward to Saturday week now.
The Dutch Oven and tripod have arrived and boy are they heavy. I'll be looking for volunteers to help lump the stuff to the camp :D
I'll try and post some pics later to get you all excited about some proper outdoor cooking!
She's a big lump alright but be honest you were tempted to do tonight's dinner in it , a wee fire in the garden would have been lovely ;D

I love the idea of ham and hammocking. There's still time enough to get a hammock for this if you don't have one (10% off for NI-Wild members in NI on orders £30+).
What time is everyone thinking? I'll defo need a hand up with the pot and tripod. Hoping to be at Carrick Little lane gate at 1-2pm. Anyone want to meet?
Hi,
New to the forum but spent fair amount of time in hammocks including winter camps.
Wife and I spent a week this summer with a child in each hammock.
Was thinking of bringing my 3 year old along to this.
Is it child friendly?
What is the parking like (safe) as may bring the van as a back up?
Thanks
Steve

Anyone got a spare tarp I could borrow?
It's just to put over my hammock
Now I know we are all watching calories because of this but a treat once in a will do us no harm so im thinking of bringing a wee bit of desert so do we have any idea of numbers as I would hate to bring any extra fig rolls, cause we all know its all about the weight ;D ;D ::)
What are we serving with the Ham Hocks?

Numbers wise it's looking like Me and Aimée, Redleader + 1, Stepstew, Matt and Kelly, Steviemuv + 1 and Shamara. So including you and a your wee fella I make that twelve for now.
I reckon there's about 14 fig rolls in a packet so one pack should do and we can arm wrestle, or something, to see who gets the two spares :D
The Ham Hocks have been selected today... I just need to decide on a recipe:

add myself + 1 (possibly two) to that list! :-)

I haven't quite decided yet as I've been up to my eyes with work but the plan is a one pot meal, like a casserole, for everybody to share.
I'm thinking along the lines of baby potatoes, sautéed onions, chestnut mushrooms, puy (http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/puy_lentils) lentils and garlic/herbs in a light red wine sauce, but I haven't totally finalised it yet.
I got three Ham Hocks as I am considering two for the casserole and one to be roasted.
A bag of crusty rolls wouldn't go a miss too for mopping up the juices ;)

Lol... Practice makes perfect, as they say. A few more hammock camps and you'll be hanging it like a pro! Didn't Redleader put that up for you ???
Looks fantastic guys. You really pulled out all the stops and put on a good show as always.
The ham on the grill looks delicious, great effort.
The thoughts of sleeping on Dowser's stretcher/hammock terrifies me.
Ahh, the sky hammock!

Did he fall out? Looks like he left a bit of chest hair on that stump.
Yeah, with an odd shaped tarp and no pegs ;)
