You can put Kat and I down as a 'Maybe' for this one.  We've been meaning to get back to Glenariff for awhile now so this seems like a good enough excuse :)

I'm gonna do this walk again on Sunday with you guys. Did a slight variation to it today which worked out at 10.5 miles, but sunday is to be a nice day so it would be rude not to. Besides I've been on the forum a while now and I never met anyone so its about time. Just a thought...park at the dam and walk to cargan, get that big hill out of the way at the start???

Looking forward to meeting ya Craig.

The Dam start sound like a winner.

Today was beautiful with the mist and fog in the ballymena area miles away. It looked like little islands in a sea. There is ample parking at the dam for a few cars. Does anyone need directions to the dam? well its the first right as soon as you get into the village and then its a left about half a mile down that road, The road to the dam is small and uneven so take care.

To keep it simple just:

It's the first right as soon as you get into the village
then its a left about half a mile down that road.
The road to the dam is small and uneven so take care.

Should take about hour maybe quicker as it will be relatively quiet at the time of the morning  ;D

For lunch I'm thinking of Pot Noodle  ;D

I'll be bringing my gas stove for a brew if anyones needs some water boiled.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread and didn't want to commit too soon.  I out tonight on a long standing engagement so didn't wish to cancel it.  depending how the night goes and the morning feels I'd be keen to go as I haven't been there for a long time.

So I might see you there.

George.

Great stuff. Not too many soups and in bed by midnight and you'll be spiffy! Quick round of Dungonnell will clear the head :D

That's the problem.  I'm only going out for one or two!? ;) Then other people force me to have more and you know it's rude to refuse ;D

I'll see how it goes. I'll try my best to be good, honest.

Hi guys!  Kat and I are down as a 'maybe' for this, but meant to pop in earlier in the week to say we're not going to be able to make it due to a date clash.  Looks like the weather is set to be good though, so you should all have a great day out - enjoy!

On a plus side it looks like Kat and I should be able to make the Mourne Way trip.  Better check in on that thread :)

I would love to see photos too, Glenariff is a lovely part of the country.

On the uploading business:

Upload the photos onto a webiste where you have made an account: Flickr, Facebook, ImageShack, etc etc. from your laptop.

Then copy and paste the link from the picture onto the topic reply.

Example: www.imagehostingwebsite.com/myaccount/picture0003

Does this help at all?

Great day guys. The weather was cold and clear with some occasional sun, took me a while to get warmed up when I got home. Total distance was 9.7 miles and I'll be honest, my legs are a tad sore today but hopefully that's just because it was hard ground or tarmac most of the way.

Was great to see you all again and lovely to have a walk outside the Mournes.

Unfortunately I only had the phone so no decent pics.

Thanks guys the kids and i enjoyed it ,although it was not a great place to break in the new boots, a bit too much tarmac involed, feet are a bit tender today the last mile or so i was on a go slow.Still it gives you a perspective on what to expect on the Mourne Way .Thanks goes out to craigy 123 for his local knowledge .
