I'll jump in on the pigs in blankets purely so I can eat a load of them at home as I'm cooking them[emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2]

Update!

Okely, dokely. As you may have noticed the weather has not been completely clement over the last few weeks. The forecast for the weekend is all over the place. Once minute it's dry Saturday night and the next it's pouring from Friday-Monday, I don't think we're really going to know what it's going to be like until much closer to the time.

So a few thoughts:
  • Anyone that can, please throw in a tarp and pegs / guys so if it is wet we can get a decent shelter up
  • I'd recommend a spare bivvy bag per person in-case of tent leakage or similar
  • Can anyone going who hasn't had their name added to the list let me know. Or else it's hard to plan for food
  • Anyone who can't go or doesn't like the look of the weather please let me know so we're not carrying up any more food than is necessary and can try and have your items covered
  • Merry Christmas
Reply with any thoughts you might have

Just a reminder of the safety and responsibility notice. It's likely to be poor weather this year at least some of the time. It's crucial you have the gear and experience to look after yourself and understand that whilst it's the season of good will to all men, you're still 100% responsible for yourself!

I survived Commedagh summit last night and Donard summit a few weeks back in some pretty harsh weather so I won't let it stop me when there is a turkey dinner involved.
It will be my first time and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone.
Might be a totally silly question but I assume everyone brings their own plates and cutlery?
Regarding the mash, I have seen photos on last years thread so I will bring it the same, in the foil trays.

I'm sure it was rough up there last night, that was a serious amount of rain fall karma added.
Yes bring all your own gear or you'll be eating with a stick

Yeah, I actually didn't notice the rain as I was fast asleep through it. There was a bit of snow just before I went to sleep.
I did however notice this morning how wet the ground was. Like total mush. It was so bad that I ended up travelling half way down to the saddle on my backside! lol

I can bring 2 tarps but they don't have any poles! So they will have to be tied to trees or whatever! And a large dry bag. Will there be a fork lift truck!

Every time I check the forecast for Saturday it gets worse [emoji97] [emoji97] [emoji97] [emoji36] so it's definitely tarps if you have them, I'll also bring a huge black plastic sheet to sling up high above the fire as there's nothing as bad as a wet roasty[emoji571]

I often wondered how to eat spaghetti with a single spork...  ::)

Anyway, if anyone wants a lift there and back, I will be driving from Belfast with just me in the car (could call anywhere reasonable along the way).
I plan to leave Belfast around lunchtime on Saturday to be down with plenty of time to pitch before dark.
On Sunday I will be in absolutely no rush to get packed up and into the car (having a drink Saturday night) so I plan to be back in Belfast sometime in the afternoon.
