Well I have a pair of leaky leather boots, but I reckon that may have been my fault as I didn't reproof them for almost a year, then when I did take the laces out and give them a good clean and wax they started leaking at the bottom of the tongue. I think the leather had probably dried too much and my moving it must have cracked it, lesson learned  :( but i would buy another pair when these wear out (Meindl Burma Pro)

the boot was filled with water to see where it was leaking

However, if you want the best of both worlds, I could recommend getting a set of these as well.

Currently £85 in Cotswolds, I wear mine every day, even did the Mourne Mtn Marathon in them, once did a 3 mile jog on tarmac too with no ill effects (forgot my trainers when away one weekend). One of them leaks in 2 places, the other is still ok but being low the water easily gets in but if you keep moviong wet feet are fine, wouldn't normally use them if going camping though.

My wife has long worked out what's going on when I offer to take her for a Saturday morning coffee treat  ::) Although when she offers me Saturday morning coffee it just means turning right and going to Next instead of left to Cotswold :)

Bought a pair of meindls and can't fault them albeit haven't had them out on a real decent dander (fair weather hiker) but staff at cotswolds were brilliant apart from walking over the ramp abit embarrassing for me lol
