Marie Curie Driving Challenge
« on: July 24, 2013 »

Who will be crowned Marie Curie Driver of the Year?

Join us at Balmoral Park on Saturday 12th October for Marie Curie Cancer Care's first ever open driving challenge. Men and women are welcome to join us for the 2013 Marie Curie Driving Challenge.

Get behind the wheel of some monster motors for the chance to win some great prizes and raise money to support the vital work of Marie Curie Nurses.

New for 2013
Two new challenge zones have been added for the 2013 Marie Curie Driving Challenge. Visit the "Balmoral Show" and "Fleet Financial/Charles Hurst" zones and get to grips with manoeuvring a cattle truck, horse box, combine harvester or put your skills to the test behind the wheel of a top of the range 4x4.

There will be 12 challenge zones in total; you must tackle 10 to be in with a chance of winning an amazing prize for you and your team. You can take part as an individual or as part of a team (a maximum of 6 participants per team). You will be scored by Advanced Motorist NI Marshals throughout.

Each challenge zone brings with it unusual vehicles, including: a fire engine, dump truck, stretch limousine, vintage 2CV, 40ft lorries, 'skip car', eight wheel Argo and other off road vehicles.
This unique event will be held at the brand new Balmoral Park, Lisburn - formally the Maze. Availability is limited to 220 driving places, so sign up now to secure your place and to receive helpful fundraising hints and tips.

Prizes to be won
We have great prizes up for grabs, with Individual and Team prizes for Marie Curie Drivers of the Year

In addition, Adrenalin Karting, Belfast; owners of the biggest indoor go kart track in Ireland, is very generously supporting the event for a second year. Thanks Rich! Hope you manage to get a team together! It really is a great event, brilliant craic and has the potential to raise over £22,000 for the Marie Curie Nursing Service in Northern Ireland if full!

If you have any queries or questions please don't hesitate to drop me a line ruth.hope@mariecurie.org.uk.

Thanks again

I have 20 years experience driving lorries/ artics and have been driving tractors, dumpers, diggers etc from a child so this would appeal to me. I am trying to raise money at the min for cancer research though by doing the seven sevens so don't think I would like to start asking people for money for something else too.
