7 Billion people at 150lbs per person, that's a lot of weight, why aren't we pulled out of orbit?

Okay so now the light one that Dowser mentioned. A very good one I hadn't thought of before but I have some initial issues on it. First of all according to the almighty Google, it is still debated whether or not a photon actually has any mass. Also, if you shine a torch toward the sky, does the light go into space? And surely the earth is emitting (and reflecting) light all the time up into the galaxy. Apparently plants only absorb 1% of the suns' light as so much is reflected of clouds, water, and other non-green plant objects. If that is the case then we are actually reflecting 99% of the sunlight back into space - The other 1% is absorbed, and maybe offset by man-made light that we give off into space?

I love a good nonsense chat about nothing :P

Yes. Sure satellites can take pictures of the tiniest detail...it's just a matter of sensitive enough instruments to record it (and a clear pathway - no clouds etc).
Light is just electro-magnetic radiation of a particular frequency/wavelength... it comes and goes in various forms: gamma rays, microwaves, infra-red (heat), radio waves etc. Energy is just converted.

LOL - you can't troll your own post! You mean 668.9N per person if you're talking about weight (150/2.2 x 9.81)... which is quite a high average - most of the population are children and smaller/less-nourished than us.
Besides, we've already argued how we are a closed system  :P

/somehow accepting troll attempt D'oh!

If the entire population of China were to jump at the same time, would we be sent hurtling across the galaxy?

The Chinese are quite organised you know.
