Slieve Binnian Summit Camp

I've been itching to knock Binnian of my camped list for ages, I missed the camp in July and since then its been in the back of my mind.

With the weather almost ideal for a summit away I went :)

Pitching the tent quickly turned into a boulder hunt as I couldnt get my pegs into the ground it was that hard but with almost no wind and inch did the trick.

With the tent positioned to make watching the sunrise a sleeping bag event I had a bumble around, had something to eat and then it was bag and ipod time. I slept so well I missed the sunrise lol.

I had skittles for breakfast as my water was now a block of ice ( the scourge of dehydrated meals :) ) and had a scoot around the summit tor with a mini climb thrown in for luck.

It was actually ok as there was no wind when I got up there. But it did take ages for my arse fat to heat up once I got in my bag lol

Nice one Typo, a winter summit, solo, ice climbing camp with extra gangsta-ness thrown in, think you covered everything there, homie. Karma. :)

Nice pics fella.  Another epic night I'm sure.  There have been so many nights lately that I have looked up at the sky and thought "that'd do", last night was another.  Well done. 

Oh crumbs the list of those for whom Binnian has still to be done grows ever smaller. :)

Binnian is defo a repeater ;)

It's a laser comp. I love it, its taken some bashing in the almost two years I've had it. The last camp on Hen that me and Whorya had produced its first fault :( the black pole sleeve cover ties on but this has two guys on it and he wind tore  the tie point cord that was facing into the wind off :( nothing a quick restitch won't fix (I only noticed Friday when I was repacking the tent as it had been hanging up in work)

When I was getting everything on at the car it was in full scream mode, I honestly think its the first time ive heard a fox 'live' which is a sad testament really lol but I am a city boy we only had Conn O'Neil river to play in and stoning the rats was our favorite past-time :) (not really :) )
