Walked the Bluestack Way in Donegal.... Runs from Donegal town to a town called Ardara. Scenery is breathtaking: rivals that of even the Scottish
Highlands. It's an established route with sign posts etc definately recommend it.

If you do get to that neck of the woods I'd recommend going into Ardara Town. Nancy's Bar is always good craic: kind of a central spot for the hundred or so inhabitants of the town. I camped and walked the Bluestacks then had a bit of luxury at the end and stayed at this spot: was lovely:

Nice restaurant in it too.

Slieve Leauge is amazing. There's a point at the top called one mans pass. Basically a path about the width of a person with sheer drops of a few hundred feet either side. It's an awesome buzz to walk it. I'll try and dig out some pics!

Good Luck! Funnily enough was gonna try and get a NI Wild expedition to do the Bluestack way later in the year. Will keep u posted!

Just remembered I've the Irish OS Maps that cover that neck of the woods and the Bluestack way. If you're going give me a shout and I'll lend you them.

Are they the discovery series maps?  What numbers do you need to cover that area? 10 seems likely. Going to go up with a mate to do Errigal/Seven Sisters soon. Do you know what number they'd be on?

Brilliant little mountain, was there for the first time in October.

We drown up a road as far as it went (along the pilgrim trail).

Most people follow the route along the coast - which gives you impressive views (if you get the weather).  We however, came a little inland and drove and parked at the end of a road - which followed a pilgrim trail towards the ruins of a wee church.  This was a really well way marked route with yellow dots on rocks the entire way.

The yellow dots take you to the edge of the cliff from here you turn right and follow the coastline, along a narrow ridge (one's man pass).

It wont take you long to reach the summit which is a triangular pillar.

I was there a few weeks ago, was a fantastic day trip, walked from the car park to troon beach via sleave league... I'll get the name of the car park for ya.

Theres also a great (if cheap is great) hostel (will find name) near troon beach.  The lady who runs it, gives lifts to the starting point and can pick you up at the end too, handy as you can park at the hostel and not have to worry about local transport..

She'll even take you to the pub - AND - pick you up !
