What'd Santa Bring you?
« on: December 26, 2012 »

What'd Santa bring you that you'd recommend? I know you guys are all probably dying to try out all your new gear: why not share what you all got (so we can buy it in the sales for half the price  ;D)

My highlights were:

1) Big Rambo type survival knife .... I don't care if it's not practical I now feel naked without it

2) Army Surplus style poncho... I'm all about minimal kit this coming year and this bad boy can act as your waterproof and shelter with some inventive use of paracord

3) Magnesium block and striker for fire-starting. It's so much more satisfying than getting a zippo out!

4) "No Easy Day" by Mark Owen. This book is an account from one of the Navy Seals that assasinated Osama Bin Laden. Only a chapter in but definately recommend it.

I ended up buying two pairs of socks whilst I was in Cotswolds yesterday, although there wasn't much selection.
