I was just thinking about Annalong and if there are large numbers it can be quite hard to find space for the tents, has anyone considered Fofanny damn and it's wood.
I'm just thinking that from the time we did the Mourne way there was loads of space for the tents, a good sized river right beside it and plenty of wood.

It's just a thought but what do you think?

car parking could be an issue mate, you could park in meelmore but then its a mucky track round the mourne way to fofanny? Im not bothered either way, but Im thinking of folk bringing kids etc? Could be tricky for them?

Yeah I'd thought about the parking and it always seems to be an issue around that area, I'd had the idea of using the sliproad that takes you into Fofanny damn, I'm sure it would be safe enough.
I'd just thought it would be a shorter walk for everybody and a easier for the tents, but hey Im still more than happy to use Annalong.

I am not sure how legal it is to camp at the Fofanny, it would be a shame to get set up and then be moved on. A big group may well be noticed. I think Annalong is still the answer as we have never had any trouble there.

The gate is always closed at the entrance to the dam and the property is owned by the water board, don't think we would be flavour of the month if we parked and blocked the entrance.
