Christmas Camp. Dates and Ideas
« on: November 03, 2012 »

I really would love to get something set in stone for our Christmas camp.

First is we need to decide on a date and location. Then we would need to decide if we are going have a bring your own or a big meal to share again.

The two locations are Annalong wood or Donard wood which can be discussed.

I'm really up for this and the start of December would suit me best.

Personally I like the idea of a camp dinner as last years was a great success and it gets everybody together.

Bring it on!!

I can do any Saturday but Fridays are a no. Even if I have a early finish I still have to wait for the car and then a hour drive and hour walk.

Annalong wood sounds good ,easier walk up than donard ,especialy for the one with the turkey,
a shared meal is always good fun it seems to spread the xmas spirit around ,not to mention the sloe gin ;D

Annalong Wood simply because I'm ashamed to say I've never camped there!

Everyone start thinking of their party piece too! .... Sing a song... recite a poem... tell a joke .... we can have our own variety show around the campfire!  :)

Okay, seems 15th is probably my most likely date. I have a birthday party but it should be early. Annalong Wood seems obvious these days, worth it for the free tea plus carrying all the gear will be easier on the flat!

Annalong wood is the sensible option due to the secure car parking, easy walk with supplies and the ability to light a fire without getting potential hassle by the authorities.

The combined meal is a good idea, I’m not bringing the 4-5kg ham this year either, though there is some amount of time invested by a few people in getting everyone fed.

Date wise, before Christmas its self suits me better, 15th.

Right so Annalong Wood it is  :). Just need to settle on a date so wait fot the vote to finish.

I think a shared meal is the best way to go again (it is great to show on the website)

also as a little quip I think the fire circle should be opened up so more people can get round it this time. (It was a bit small at the haloween camp)
