I'm going might be bringing a friend although not confirmed yet. I plan to make dough sticks with the kids and plan to cook them on the fire.

It's dough on a kebab stick. I was shown how to make them at the weekend.. It wasn't just about staying at the Radison.
Self raising flour and water and salt
Kebab sticks soaked in water
Raisins, chocolate, cranberries, cinnamon, sugar.
Mix flour with Water and a pinch of salt in a bowl until you get a dough consistancy(add filling) roll into long thin sausage shapes and wrap round the kebab stick and then place close to the fire and cook whilst occasionally turning them. They take about ten mins to cook.
Great for both adults and kids and depending on the filling you can have them sweet or savoury.

This is Bannock and is delicious. I can highly recommend adding a good dash of Southern Comfort, maybe not for the kids though :)

I'm thinking of trying to get down a shade earlier than usual on Saturday to have a bit of a clear around while it's still light if anyone wants to lend a hand.

my advice would be to bring a small shovel, we lifted pretty much all the big stuff that we could see, really just smaller pieces of glass and sheep cr*p left up there, also there is a good amount of fallen trees, so someone should bring a bowsaw, im looking to make this camp, but not 100% certain re work etc yet!  :(

I'd be up for heading down earlier and lending a hand clearing up  if i could ask you for a lift there, really want to make the camp but transport is my only problem. It would just be me and a largish backpack. :)

I'm going for sure, might be a tad zombified though. I've a 12 hour stay away on the friday night, 8pm to 8am with my youth club, so a few hours kip in the morning and then pack the kit. Is anyone bringing a hammock/shelter? I'd love to try one before I fork out to buy one. Should I bring my halloween mask? Its a bit freaky...

The apples hanging from a branch (or a walking pole) is what I'd thought of too.

I'll be there with a 7 year old.  No idea what time we are heading down just yet, will probably do something with the rest of the family around home before heading.  So late afternoon at the earliest.

Sounds like it is going to be cold.

Where do you live as I could pick you up on the way?
