mission accomplished, had set a realistic time of 1hr15 for myself (there was some ascent on the course through donard forest followed by a boggy section) and had hoped for outside chance of breaking the hour, was overjoyed to look at my watch at the finish and see 59min58sec  ;D  and thats after getting up at 4.15am to watch batman at the cinema this morning, then going for a walk up doan in the afternoon! so going to sleep very very well tonight  :)

(anyone see my leg!)

it was a great race for anyone used to the flat but wanting to get into the hilly stuff a little but not go as far as the hill & dale series, it wasn't too steep, all sections where runable and some great views along the way.

next one is at silent valley in august

and a nice time of 48 mins  :)  well done, i think i pretty much stretched myself to my limits to break the hour (although the official time was 1hr1min  >:( )  my fastest km was the last one, managed that in under 5min, i stepped up 3 gears when i saw i had a chance of the hour, including what felt like a usain bolt sprint on the last 100m, oh my legs felt that after.

I know a few people from work and FB who were at this too... by the sounds of it I really missed out! Well done guys, it sounds like it was a great mix of fun & challenging.
