Spoke to a couple of engineers that sit beside me, its thermocouplers.

Another bloke that sits beside me is a former power station employee. If I need to know about power stations I will just ask him.

we use the peltier effect at work to cool our lasers, i could tell you more but i'd have to kill you, by laser of course

I don't work with those that operate them, but I know where they are. Quite strict about access due to the obvious risks
