My current boots are a leather Karrimor KSB and have been in use for around 10 years. They have until very recently been very comfortable. I regularly clean the boots and apply polish and waterproofing wax.

Lately my left foot has started to slide forward in my boot, usually when going downhill causing pain on the big toe.

The right foot is okay so far.

I have found this link on the internet but am wondering if anyone on the forum has had similar experience and remedial advice?

get bigger feet? new boots might be a cheaper option though

You're so witty! How'd the dinner go?

Ours was a variety of dehydrated meals, followed by mince pies, one of which Matt heated up directly on the Mini Trangia accompanied by a little red Merlot from Chile.

Ten years is a good long time for a boot to last! I wouldn't think that after all that time they are suddenly starting to stretch so it might be worth considering the possibility that your feet are changing. When was the last time you had your feet measured properly? Drop by with your boots and I can measure your feet and have a look at the boots for you. There could be a number of things to check but if the boots are still good then insoles (such as Superfeet) or maybe even just volume reducers might be worth looking at.

Eventually called in with Simon at Cotswold who kindly measured my feet, probably the first measuring since I got my school shoes

He also examined my boots. The result was that my feet and boots were no longer compatable. After some discussion about options I decided, and on on prompting from my wife, to invest in a new pair of boots. I must emphasize that I was under no pressure to purchase new boots.

Its my birthday next month so this was an early present a pair of Anatom Q2 boots.

Once again the staff at Cotswold have provided a good service/customer care, in this case by Simon, thanks.

Just have to them broken in and get out.

Which ones Surf? ~~Flame? Fugitive?~~ Q3? Q2? I was thinking of having a look at the Q2s myself.

Edited: After Dean's post I realised that I had confused Anatom and Asolo.

Cotswold pepole are very helpful.

I got Asolo GTX fugitive from them a few years back. Still look like new.
