Think I'm gonna ditch the hiking boots for a Helicopter...  3 minutes to get to the Summit of Donard without even breaking a sweat  ;)

A friend of mine offered to take me for a cruise through the mountains yesterday in his Helicopter.  At times we were flying at about 400ft and 120mph through the valleys.  If you ever get the opportunity jump at it because the view of the mountains from the sky is totally awesome.  The pictures below don't do it justice but my face was sore from grinning by the time we landed  ;D

The Helipad... My mates garden with the kids football net pushed to one side  :o

Not jealous at all.... ;)

Sounds like a great experience! Nice to keep the feet dry for a change.

thanks for sharing the pics dowser, not surprised you were smiling so much, that looked awesome! I was actually saying to the mrs when we were on doan the other day, that we will take a chopper ride over the mournes when I hit 40, seems like a good way to celebrate, but I still have 4 and a bit years to wait! lol

Sounds like a brilliant trip, I'm jealous. You can pay to do this but it's £140+.

Lucky for me this one was a freebie... Apparently it costs £85 just to fire this thing up and over £400 per hour to run  :o

Maybe I will stick to hiking to the top of Donard for a while  ;)

Will be a great way to celebrate your 40th Redspud, Better tell Mrs Redspud to start saving now though  :P
