I have had a few pairs of boots in the past but the Meindel's for me are the best yet. They have an excellent fit, very waterproof and for me very durable. I have had mine for about two years and they have survived everything I have done. When I got back from my month away the cleaned up a treat to the point where they look like new.

The boots are quite stiff, I do not mind, but  some users may. I would say that they are one of the few items that I would instantly buy again if I damaged them.

I know there are four items but it's a hard choice...

I open these links from twitter and get back to them - sometimes days later... so I probably look like a lurker.

3 things - favourite...

Montane featherlite smock instantly comes to mind.
Buff.
Headtorch - rarely used, but I love them. Mainly for reading, the odd late cook or very early start.

-----------------
excluded - baselayers because you get arrested if not wearing something, footwear because I'm in an undecided transitional phase, camera and notebook because they're not really "kit"... like chocolate and port  ;)

Meindl boots are very good but best suited to wider feet, That's why I went with the Asolo's (better for narrow feet)
