Is Camping Addictive?
« on: August 14, 2010 »

So is camping addictive..? I think so!!!

You know you've got a serious problem when... you can't dissappear into the mountains due to family commitments, like your kids 4th birthday, so so you pitch a tent in your back garden instead.

It's gonna be my daugthers first night under canvass and the marshmallows are ready to go... She's really looking forward too it  :D

Awesome... it looks like the slide is an inventive means of entry to the tent ;D

I may incorporate a slide into the mini head tent I'm designing for bivving. Fellow campers could slide Cheese Burgers down it to me so I don't have to get up!!!

And yes... before anybody else happens to mention it... Even my family tent is camo!!!

I came very close to subscribing to TGO because of the Hi Tec V-Lites the were giving away.  I thought how can you go wrong... £72 for a two year subscription and you get a pair of boots retailing at £90, until I read a couple of reviews... Apparenty the boots are awful and leak like the Titanic...  Some guy had two pairs replaced by Hi Tec because they kept leaking within the first few days.  It all became clear why TGO were giving them away... Hi Tec must have had a warehouse full of them and passed them on to TGO at a £1 a boot!!!

I'll wait till they've give away all their leaky boots and see what they are offering next month ;)

PS Unless anyone else has these boots and can tell me otherwise

That was the first tent I bought when I decided to get back into camping in July last year.  The plan was to take the family to the Copeland Islands for the weekend.  The day I bought it the weather turned and never recovered for the entire summer.  But yes... this is the source of my Camo addiction!!!  Slippery slope from then on and NI Wild has done nothing but encourage me.  3 Tents and two Bivvi Bags later I've more camo gear than the entire Parachute Regiment put together  8)

I'm suprised Lucy isn't in an ultralight DPM dressing gown.

I wonder if you ever get a caravan (sorry, is that a bad word round here  :D ) will it be camo  :o

got a new tent today, another car boot special bargain, £4 for a 2man Wynnster Hummingbird, i then counted my tents and realised i have 7, one of these days i'll have to actually go camping, at least the tents are easier to hide than the land rovers  ;)

my 5 yr old is keen to get out camping (although she'd rather go in the caravan  >:( ) so looking forward to the the family camp if it happens this year
