Sunday 24/10
« on: October 24, 2011 »

Anyone from here around the bottom of Donard on Sunday?

Weather was really good. Yes it was wet, but it was consistently wet. No need to mess around with clothes. T-shirt and Goretex.

Was good seeing the rivers so full, massive amounts of water.

We came down from Donard Forest on Sunday morning at around 11ish after a nights camping. Was quite nice apart from driving rain :)

Yup, my mate and I came down glen river from Commedagh, hit the carpark just after 1.
Was a fun day. He opted for slightly damp and comfortable in full waterproofs and I went for absolutely soaking and comfortable in full softshell  :D  It worked, but for a gently plod I'll opt for something drier next time!

Saw some lads heading up in heavy hoodies... I'm sure they didn't have fun once they soaked through!

I was heading up around lunch time and just wondered if I passed anyone on the way down from this site.

Come across a few that were soaked, but were smiling and just were past caring.

I just had to trust the dog not to get to close to the rivers, not sure i would have found her again is she fell in.

Probably was us. We saw a few people with dogs and thought the same thing about the rivers!
