Supermoon March 19 2011
« on: March 14, 2011 »

The Moon will pass the closest it's been in 18 years. Should be a good night for moonwatching if the skies stay clear.

Total coincidence but there's lots of chat on the internet from wacky astrologers about it. Think it was an astrologer who actually named it. The science is that obviously the moon does affect the tides (including the solid bits of the earth through "land tides") but it being closer than usual makes only a tiny difference.
