Living off the land......... in a treehouse
« on: November 30, 2009 »

Thon boy has been living in a tree and off the land for the last 6 months and kept a blog while he was at it. Quite an entertaining read, and interesting to see what food is readily available in a forest. Would presume its of special interest to the bush craft peeps and wolf.
Disconnecting from the world and living in a forest/tree is definitely something that interests me, but I'd have to broaden my palate quite a bit to be on par with this chap. Badger and squirrel....interesting  :)

That looks awesome. Would be great to be able to untie from the daily grind and go live somewhere remote for a while.

Thought ya'll might like it. Has echoes of the ditch monkey who spent a year living in a forest while holding down a job in London. His is probably an example of how not to do it though, getting wet, sleeping in wet sleeping bags, not knowing how to set up tarps use bivi bags or live outside in comfort, but certainly makes for an interesting read. He's now currently living in the snow line above a skiing village somewhere to raise money and awareness for the rain forest planting project or something like that. However he hasnt posted since september so who knows how his second adventure is going.
