Annalong valley trek

An early start to the day with Mr & Mrs Spud collecting me at 7am,our arrangement was to met Big E at Carricklittle then drive back to our starting point at Rourkes park 358/223.

We made our way through Dunnywater wood which forms the lower part of Annalong woods.Our route today was a circular one of around 14 KL without first stop at long Seefin 358/239 to bag the geocache.This is one of the oldest parts of the Mourne wall with this interesting pillar.

Next it was onto find the engine from the WW2 bomber,earlier this year I visited the crash site but did find the engine.Looking on the Geocaching site last night I noticed a new cache on Hares castle belonging to landyliam,sneaky one Liam from Hares castle we descended into Annalong valley were we did some map & compass work.

Looks like you had a great day and excellent weather for it. Was through all your photos on facebook. If i hadn't have been painting my hall i would have been tempted :-\
