Pioneer Group Off-Road Duathlon

The Pioneer Group Off-Road Duathlon at The Castleward National Trust Property will take place on Sunday 4th December 2011.

The format will be the same as the very successful event we held at Lady Dixon Park in Belfast last year - the first event will be the Youth & Junior Races followed by the Adult Open Race.

This is an off-road run/bike/run race. It is recommended that athletes use appropriate off-road bikes and not road bikes. The course is a mixture of path, road and forest trail with a bit of mud and dirt thrown in. The adult event will be raced over a 3km run / 13km bike / 3km run course. The trail was built by the world renowned bike course architect Dafydd Davis and this will be the first official event on the trail.

All athletes must wear helmets for the races.

Registration on the day will be open from 10:30. Registration for each race will close one hour before the event begins. First race to start at 13:00. All competitors must report to registration before racing.

Entries will be taken on the day but these will incur an extra charge.

Adult Open: £16 / €18
Adult Relay: £32 / €37
(Adults aged 18+ on the day of the race)
