Camping Lanterns
« on: June 22, 2011 »

I am looking for a new camping lantern - this time I would like to try one of the LED/battery ones. Has anyone used one and what is the brightest one that anyone has found..??

Thanks

My tent came with a set of lights that you string up inside along the poles, about 6 or 8 small but bright LEDs. Great job altogether, very bright and light with a small battery pack.  Only problem as I say is that they came with the tent but I'm sure if you had a look around you could buy them separately, or even knock a set up yourself.
Good luck!

You could maybe try the Scout shop in Belfast.
I was the opposite there, my Dad bought a Tilly lamp at an auction and I had to go round the world and back to try and get a mantle to fix the dam thing.

I got this one at christmas

It's bright and has a long battery life plus you can charge it with the cigarette thingy in a car.
Great for car camping but i wouldn't take it backpacking because it does weigh a bit.
