A man in his 60s has been rescued from the Mourne Mountains after falling while walking there.

Shortly before 1500 BST, it was reported that the 61-year-old man was stranded on Slieve Bernagh.

He is believed to have sustained injuries to his back and arms.

The man was located by Mourne Search and Rescue team and taken to Daisy Hill hospital in Newry by helicopter.
