Where to go
« on: August 06, 2010 »

I'm heading down to Belfast to get myself a new rucsac and new pair of boots for my wee lad .. I ain't been to Tiso,Cotswold etc etc I would usually buy online but I want to be sure everything fits ok especially my rucsac and of course the boots .

Who would you reccomend I have been told Jackson sports customer service is good and you can  haggle :-) i might try surfmountain seeing as they are on the site but I will trust you gear addicts where to go

Cheers Andy

I mainly buy from Cotswold there are always good. Jacksons are good also.
I only bought from Tiso once but seemed very good.

Blacks or Millets are ok, but for service you cant beat cotswold and it pains me to say that.

I find the best bet is all the shops close in town and buy wherever is cheapest. Blacks, Tiso, Millets and Jacksons (and Cotswolds if its open) are all a stones throw from each other. Also, I never really found any real difference between Tiso and Cotswolds service wise but I think Tiso take the piss on price a bit sometimes ;)

Jacksons and Surf Mountain get my vote.  Excellent service, will usually do some discount on the price, great after sales service and you get to support local businesses who employee staff who are enthusiastic about the outdoors :)
